Family Science Day at The Staten Island Zoo consists of:
– mini-science investigations,
– games
– vendors
– live animal ambassador talks
– guided hands-on science exploration activities
– biofacts and Zoo artifacts.
Prizes and raffles will also be available!
Family Science Days serve as a kickoff to our Urban Advantage program year, and is meant to get our schools, students and families excited about science and to create a memorable experience at our museums, gardens and zoos. Each of our eight UA institutions hosts a Family Science Day during the month of October. It is our hope that Family Science Day will spark student interest in science and inspire them to return to our institutions on their own.

Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination is required for all guests 12+. Children 11 years and
younger are permitted to enter the Zoo with a vaccinated adult chaperone. Masks will
be required in all indoor facilities, including: all indoor exhibits, the Zoo Café, auditorium,
events tent, and restrooms.
