Red Ribbon Week begins this week. RRW is an annual alcohol, tobacco, drug, and violence prevention campaign in the United States observed each October.
RED RIBBON WEEK began as a tribute to DEA special agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, who was murdered in 1985 while fighting drug traffickers. Today, it is the nation's largest and longest-running drug awareness program. It's purpose is to raise awareness and prevent alcohol, tobacco, and drug use, as well as violence.
Ms. Boone, our school's SAPIS (Substance Abuse Prevention and Intervention Specialist) teaches classroom lessons to all grade levels (using evidence-based programs) regarding Cannabis and the Adolescent Brain among other lessons from other curriculums throughout the school year.
Thank you in advance for allowing your student(s) to participate in the Red Ribbon Week Spirit Week. And all parents can be on the lookout for an upcoming Virtual Parent Workshop on the Dangers of Vaping with Latest Trends of 2025.
