Message from Mr. Leddy 9-6-24

As the NYCPS Chancellor has announced, the city is exploring the idea of restricting/banning cell phones in the schools. I have been an educator for 25 years and during that time I have experienced many changes in technology, both good and bad. I know we can come up with an answer to all problems if we do research, collect data/evidence, compare ideas, and ask questions. Please answer these three questions below as we take the first step in solving a problem. Thank you

GRP Letters

All students will receive training in General Response Protocols (GRP) on Monday, September 9, 2024. GRP letters will go home with students and are also available here. We will be having an emergency drills tomorrow afternoon, 9-9-24, Tuesday morning, 9-10-24, and Friday morning, 9/13/24. If you have any questions please contact the school

Welcome Back - September 5, 2024 First Day of School

All students should report to the schoolyard at 8:00AM tomorrow so we can begin our first day of school. You can find your schedule on NYCSA. If you cannot access your account, staff will be available to tell you what class you have in the schoolyard. New Parents/Guardians are welcome to wait in the schoolyard with their children. Dismissal is at 2:40PM.

6th Grade Orientation for the 2024-2025 School is August 29th.

8th Grade Families Attending Graduation

Students will meet in the LeFrak Concert Hall located in the Aaron Copland School of Music. The LeFrak gate on Reeves Avenue will be open. Parents and guardians and guests can line up a the Colden center.
Parking: Enter at Gate 3 at 153rd Street and Reeves Avenue, driving straight onto campus, and making a right at the first stop (Fitzgerald Gym). Follow the “Event Parking” signs to the lower level of the parking garage. We recommend that all allow extra time. Please see the map below.

Summer School 192

Summer School Parent Meeting on June 18, 2024 @6:30PM

Summer school for I.S. 238 will be held at I.S 192 which is located at 109-89 204 STREET, Hollis, NY 11412. There will be an In-Person parent orientation meeting at I.S. 192 at 6:30PM on June 18, 2024. For more information please email Ms. Nater at [email protected]

PTA Meeting Re-Scheduled

The PTA meeting scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled and rescheduled for June 20, 2024 at 6:00PM on Zoom. Once again, tomorrow’s PTA meeting has been rescheduled for June 20, 2024 at 6:00PM on Zoom.

8th Graduates - Cap and Gown Distribution

Students that have paid their senior dues, and are being promoted, will receive their Cap, Gown, Tassle, Key Chain, T-shirt, Drawstring Bag, and 2 Tickets for graduation tomorrow. Students were given an appointment on a pink paper during 8th period today.
